Ham Radio Projects
On my 11th birthday my godfather (ON6YZ) proposed me to help me setting up a ham radio station. By the beginning of 1998 I got my first license (ON2BHR). Afterwards, proceeded to the more advanced exams to obtain a license for all amateur radio frequency bands. Currently I'm using the callsign ON4APT.
Radio Infrastructure
Currently I'm using a Kenwood THD-D72, a dual band (2m and 70cm), dual tranceiver. The nice thing about this device is that it can receive two different frequencies simultaneously. This allows me, for instance, to follow or participate in a convesation while receiving some APRS packets (containing locational data, wheater forecasts, etc.).
When my new house is finished (expected late spring 2016), I'll be able to rebuild my radio shack, put antenna's on the roof and restart DIY radio projects.
